Telkom announced on Friday that it has promoted Dirk Reyneke to the position of Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
His appointment is effective from today.
Last December, Reyneke was appointed as the acting CFO after the resignation of Tsholofelo Molefe.
Molefe joined the MTN Group board and took over from Sugentharan Perumal who has been acting in the position of GCFO since 1 September 2020. Perumal took on that role following the appointment of Ralph Mupita as MTN’s new president and CEO, replacing Rob Shuter. For more read: MTN Taps Telkom CFO As New Finance Chief
Reyneke was the CFO of Openserve for 18 months before taking over the acting CFO role at Telkom.
Reyneke, a qualified Chartered Accountant, joined Telkom on 1 March 2012 from Absa Retail and Business banking.
Over the past eight years, Reyneke has gained valuable experience and knowledge across the Group. He was formerly a CFO of Telkom Mobile and Gyro for four and two years respectively.
He also led the integration process of BCX and Telkom Enterprise.
On Friday, Telkom also announced changes to the committees of its board with the appointment of:
- Kholeka Mzondeki as the Chairperson of the Social and Ethics Committee and subsequent stepping down from the Investment and Transactions Committee.
- Fagmeedah Petersen-Cook as a member of the Nominations Committee.
- Keith Rayner as a member of the Investment and Transactions Committee.
- Alphonso Samuels as a member of both the Social and Ethics and Investment and Transactions Committees respectively.
“The board wishes Reyneke the best in his new role, and Telkom looks forward to the non-executive directors’ contributions to the Committees of the Board,” the company said in a statement.
