JSE-listed Altron has announced the sale of its Altron People Solutions business, which was held for sale for the past year.
Altron People Solutions’ Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) and Customer Experience Technology (CXTech) business has been acquired by iSON Xperiences, a global organisation with headquarters in Dubai which is looking to expand their African footprint.
The Learning Solutions part of the business was acquired by South African management consultancy LRMG.
A decision was taken to split the business and sell it to two buyers, both of whom are ideally positioned to provide exciting new growth opportunities in an environment where they can flourish.
Nyati said, while the business no longer aligned with the Altron 2.0 strategy, it had a great industry track record.
“By selling it to the correct partners, we have allowed these businesses opportunities for growth and expansion. The Learning Solutions can now focus on bringing innovative digital training services to the market, while the BPO is now part of a global organisation that brings a more expansive view on customer experiences,” he said.
Africa’s largest security services provider has been created after the Competition Tribunal approved the acquisition of digital signature services company Lawtrust by JSE-listed Altron.
The R245-million deal will see Lawtrust being integrated into Altron, which also acquired identity management market leader, Ubusha Technologies, in 2019 to form Altron Security.
Altron Group Chief Executive, Mteto Nyati, said the acquisition of Lawtrust positioned Altron Security as a one-stop shop for digital and information security.
Lawtrust is a digital trust services and cyber information security solutions company which provides solutions used to verify the authenticity of digital identities and counterparty systems in transactions, data encryption, digital signatures, as well as biometrics.
Lawtrust provides services to over 500 customers in the private and public sectors and is an internationally certified Certificate Authority for the provision of publicly trusted digital certificates and digital signatures.
Altron Security is also establishing a local presence in the United Kingdom where its offerings are in demand.
